Project Overview

At McKinley Sports, we’ve been a proud and trusted partner of Hancock County Schools since 2004—collaborating on athletic facility improvements that support student-athletes and strengthen school communities. Our work with Weir High School reflects that commitment through a series of impactful projects designed to enhance performance, safety, and pride in Red Rider athletics.

Our most recent work includes the new Weir High Baseball and Softball Fields, designed to provide student-athletes with modern, competition-ready facilities. Featuring upgraded dugouts, bullpens, batting cages, press boxes, and spectator seating, the complex was built with both functionality and fan experience in mind. Site enhancements included ADA-accessible walkways, fencing, and improved drainage and irrigation systems to ensure consistent playability throughout the season.

Additionally, McKinley Sports completed comprehensive renovations in 2004, and a full rebuild of Weir High’s football field at Jimmy Carey Stadium in 2012. These phased improvements included stadium seating upgrades, press box enhancements, upgraded lighting, new turf installation, and essential infrastructure updates—ensuring the football field meets modern standards while preserving its legacy. Jimmy Carey Stadium remains a vibrant centerpiece for the school and community, hosting generations of athletes and fans.

Together, these projects highlight McKinley Sports’ longstanding dedication to athletic design—and our ongoing partnership with Hancock County Schools to create spaces where athletes compete, communities gather, and pride runs deep.
